What is eScore? eScore is TVA’s energy efficiency program that allows homeowners the ability to make their home more efficient while affording them the opportunity to earn rebates for work performed at the same time.
A few simple steps are all that is required to participate. Information is provided below to see who is eligible, how to participate, what incentives you may be entitled to, instant savings measures that the homeowner can do themselves, contractors who participate in our area and contact information for your TVEC energy advisor who can help you through this process.
Once you have determined your home is eligible, visit www.2eScore.com and answer a few simple questions to create a portal for your home. This portal will be the pathway that you, your contractor(s) and your local energy advisor will use to reach your goal of energy efficiency.
TVEC offers financing for the installation of heat pumps and weatherization. An applicant must have a minimum of a 625 Equifax credit score, have a good payment history with TVEC and own the home. Heat pump loans range from $2,500 to $15,000 and weatherization loans from $2,500 to $5,000. An application is available to interested participants at the link on this page or you may pick one up in either TVEC office. Click HERE for application.
Water heater change outs are eligible for rebates as well. Homeowners replacing electric with electric receive a $50 rebate while those replacing gas with electric receive a $100 rebate.
Newly constructed homes can earn incentives as well. By signing an intent to participate agreement and following the prescriptive path of requirements, new home builders can receive a $300.00 incentive.
Although they may not be eligible for rebates, there are several instant saving measures that a homeowner can perform to help curb energy consumption. Installation of compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL’s) and low flow shower heads (well pumps) can lower usage along with air drying laundry and adjusting thermostats on electrical appliances. Energy Star appliances and electronics when replacing existing ones are a good practice also.
